What Rings to Put on Your Bergara Rifle
One of the most overlooked components when you’re building a rifle is the rings and the bases that secure your scope in place. Without quality ones, accuracy is impossible. However, many hunters and shooters still believe that all scope rings are the same.
Over the years, technology has really improved scope rings, and they are not all equal. You may have spent $3,000 or more on a custom rifle and spent $700-$3,000 to purchase a quality riflescope. So, why would you attach that scope to your custom rifle with a $20 set of scope rings? Make sure whether you’re buying a rifle off the shelf or purchasing a custom rifle that you buy some of the best quality scope rings you can get.
As far as rings go, the choice is up to the customer. We prefer to use Nightforce or Badger Ordinance, but they run about $150. We also use Warne rings, which do a good job for a very reasonable price. They run about $60. The most important thing is using rings from a reputable company that makes a precise and strong product. You don’t want your scope moving from recoil, or the rings torquing the tube of the scope, both of which cheap rings can do.
No one component part of the ultimate rifle is the most important for consistently shooting accurately. A custom rifle is the combination of all the different component parts that it uses. A rifle’s accuracy depends on all the parts of the rifle working together at a high level. This is achieved by using the best component parts made by the best gunsmiths. I know that here at Bergara we produce some of the finest rifles in the world.
